Enable Debugging Mode on your Android Phone

Enabling debugging mode on your Android phone is pretty straight forward.

To be able to enable debugging mode you’ll first need to enable the Developer Options section. To do this, navigate to Settings > About Phone and start tapping the Build Number until you see a message saying “You are now a developer!”.

Hit the back button and you should now see Developer Options right above the About Phone section

Verify:

Make sure you have downloaded and extracted Android SDK Tools to your computer and installed the prerequisites: Follow this guide if you haven’t

Connect your phone to the computer and navigate back to the platform-tools folder inside the folder where you extracted the SDK. Hold the Shift key and right click in an empty area of the window, then click on “Open command window here”

Now, with the phone connected, type “adb devices”.

If this is the first time you’ve connect your phone to your computer you’ll need to allow the connection first

If this is a computer your going to connect your phone with on a regular basis then click “Always allow from this computer”
